Our CEO

Marcey Wright is founder and CEO of MineWrite Marketing & Communications LLC, a marketing and public relations firm in Memphis, Tennessee.

Prior to starting the business-to-business agency in 2018, Wright worked in a variety of Communications roles, ranging from non-profit to corporate and local to Federal Government.

In addition to running operations at MineWrite, she also works for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as Program Manager, Community Engagement. She began her career with TVA as Public & Community Relations Consultant IV for West Tennessee and Mississippi shortly after launching MineWrite Marketing.

Wright’s professional career began at Memphis’ ABC-affiliate station, Local Memphis or WATN-TV, where she was promoted to Assignment Editor during her four years there.

Simultaneously, Wright served as Marketing Communications Specialist for Memphis Public Libraries’ 18 locations. She was later promoted to Public Relations Supervisor, where she designed and implemented Library marketing and promotions strategies.

After three years in the role, Wright was promoted to Coordinator of Public Relations & Media for the City of Memphis, under the leadership of Mayor Jim Strickland. Wright worked in this capacity through 2018, when – after much prayer and consideration – she decided to leave her post to start MineWrite Marketing & Communications.

The decision to start MineWrite Marketing was birthed after Wright spent years of working alongside other marketing agencies and desiring change in the industry. She wanted to focus on the customer, first learning about the client’s business goals and using market research to better reach end-customers.

Today, MineWrite specializes in strategic planning, brand development, website creation, social media optimization, public and media relations and more. Some of our previous clients include the Memphis Library Friends, the City of Memphis, Garrett & Thomas Law Firm, Jurex Nurse, St. John Missionary Baptist Church and others.

Wright holds a Master of Science in Legal Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities / Journalism (LeMoyne-Owen College), and an associate degree. More recently (2020), Wright earned official certificates of completion in Business Analytics and Entrepreneurship Essentials from Harvard Business School Online.
