On this sacred day in which we commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and The Dream of equality, it is essential that we continue to uplift the ideals that he held true.

It is imperative that we ask ourselves how we view and/or judge others. Is it only skin deep or truly by the content of their character?

Furthermore, how do you approach your work or tasks — both big and small? Is it with what Dr. King called the “Street Sweeper” mentality? No matter what job you undertake, do you complete it at the very best of your ability? To the glory of GOD?

Lastly, when you look into the mirror, what do you see? Do you see the beautiful human being before you, who was made in GOD’s image? Do you see your true worth and value? Do you treat yourself with respect and care? (This guides others to do so as well.)

These were just a few of the ideals that Dr. King stood for. If we sought these same admirable traits daily, how amazing could this world be? The Dream would become reality!
